Mary Stacey

January 1, 1925 — March 18, 2015

Mary Jane Stacey of Madison, passed of this life on Wednesday, March 18th, 2015 at Skyline Medical Center at the age of 89. Proceeded in death by James Bert Stacey and step-daughter Sandra Stacey-Morris. She is survived by seven children, Carolyn Stacey-Birky and her husband Calvin, Larry Stacey and his wife Nancy, Lois Stacey, Linda Stacey-Walters and her husband Howard, Felda Stacey, Robert Stacey and his wife Sue, and Kenneth Stacey and his wife Syvle. Grandchildren, Shon Hocker and his wife Carla, Kara Swa, Jeff Stacey and his wife Kim, Amber Teague and her husband Bill, Nathan Stacey and his wife Stephanie, Tammy Barrett and her husband Jim, Jeff Walters and his wife Audrey, Darrell Stacey and his wife Jeanie, Randy Stacey and his wife Diane, Terri Cagle and her husband Marc, Bron Stacey and his wife Penny, and Stacey Dawn Morris. Great-grandchildren, Sandra Salinas, Korey Hocker and his wife Brooklyn, Brianna Hocker, Miekala Hocker, Maddison Hocker, Jayden Hocker, Heather Marshall, MaKenzie Swa, Robyn Walters, Draven Tacina, Carrington Jane Walters, Nicholas Barrett, Samantha Barrett, Matthew Stacey, Allison Stacey, Alexandra Teague, Grant Teague, Abigail Stacey, Connor Stacey, Katelynn Aplasca, and Benjamin Stacey. And one great-great grandchild, Mason Apalasca. She was born in Morgan County TN. She was the youngest of nine children. After graduating high school as the salutatorian, she went to work at Oak Ridge Nuclear Plant until the end of World War II. Mary Jane then became a first grade teacher at Wartburg Elementary. While there, she met her husband James who was doing construction on the school. They were married in June of 1946. They were blessed with twins Larry and Lois, Carolyn, Linda and Felda. She was a wonderful stay at home, work at home mom. She was the Blind Lady of Madison repairing Venetian blinds for 15 years. For several years, she worked at Mothers-Day-Out at church. She even was a Sunshine Girl delivering flowers to the patients at nursing homes. She delivered Handy Maps of Nashville for 25 years. She will be loved and missed for the rest of our days. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 19, 2015 3-7:00PM at the Neely's Bend Church of Christ with a Memorial Service at 7:00pm. A private graveside service will be on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 11:00am at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Goodlettsville, TN .
