POSS, Benjamin Clifton, age 82, passed away June 25, 2014. Preceded in death by parents, David Everett and Wilma Taylor Poss; brothers, William Herbert Poss, Joe Ben Poss, Mason Poss. Survived by loving wife of 62 years, Peggy Joyce Bates Poss; sons, Danny (Pamela) Poss, Terry (Jill) Poss, Teddy Poss; daughter, Donna (Mark) Brooks; sisters, Reba Knowles, Wanda Dickens; brothers, Dean Poss, Glynn Poss; grandchildren, Justin (Jessica) Poss, Jillian (Dennis) Tollison, Brittany (Courtney) Cagle, Ashleigh (Austin) Hines, Benjamin Brooks, Halleigh Poss, Taylor Poss, Zachary Poss; great-grandchildren, Brileigh Poss, Braxton Poss, Mason Poss, Carter Tollison; four legged child, Smokey; special care giver, Cindy Gabbert; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Poss was a member of Mt. View The Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman, Atlanta Braves, and University of Tennessee fan. Pallbearers for the service include: Justin Poss, Benjamin Brooks, Taylor Poss, Zachary Poss, Byron Poss, Darrell Poss, Jimmy Dickens, and Gary Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers include the Smithville Fire Department. Visitation with the family will be held in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home Friday, June 27, 2014 from 2 - 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 from 1 - 8 p.m. at Love - Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville, TN. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 2 p.m. with visitation starting prior to the service at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at DeKalb Memorial Gardens with military honors and Smithville fire department honors.
