JEFFERS, Betty Ann Leprotti, age 89, passed into the arms of the Lord on February 20, 2013. Preceded in death by husband, William M. Mack Jeffers; daughter, Mary Helen Jeffers; parents, Eugenio and Mary Josephine Leprotti; siblings, Helen Leprottie (Leroy) Fell, Pasquale (Goldie) Leprotti, Luigi (Jenny) Leprotti, Jean Phillips, Vincent (Alice) Leprotti. Survived by children, Bill (Wanda) Jeffers, Gene (Brenda) Jeffers, JoAnn Mynatt David, deceased) Jeffers, Russell Lee (Becky) Jeffers; grandmother of Mark Jeffers, Rick Jeffers, Sonny Jeffers, Kasey Jeffers Jossart, Tim Jeffers, Angela Mynatt Ashley, Derreck Mynatt, Gina Jeffers Van Avery, David Jeffers, Christy Jeffers Butler; loving great grandmother of 13. As a teenager in 1940, she was a featured performer on the Wheeling Jamboree and wrote and recorded such songs as "Keys to the Kingdom" and "Let's Put Christ Back In Christmas". She was an executive secretary at the Oak Ridge National Laboratories in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She was part of the Manhattan Project that was crucial to the outcome of World War II. She was also volunteer secretary to her beloved Midway Baptist Church in Clinton, Tennessee for over forty years. She was also a member of the choir and a featured soloist. She was a member of East Tennessee's Stookesberry Gospel Quartet that was popular in 1950's and 1960's. Her passion was sharing Jesus Christ and her salvation with others.
