Our beloved mother, Dorrice Elaine Spurlock Farmer of Nashville, TN, passed away on August 11, 2022, after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born August 13, 1950, to Lattie and Dottie Mai Spurlock. After graduating from Isaac Litton High School in 1968, she worked for many years at Bellsouth. She was preceded in death by her brother Ronald Graves Spurlock, Sr. She is survived by her children: Tanya Farmer Wilson and husband Mark, Brian Thomas Farmer and wife Angeline, and Kristina Farmer Porter and husband Cary. Her cherished grandchildren Ariel, Jake, Andrew, Brilynn, Sean, Christian, Kylie, Julia, and Connor. Her sister Cindy Spurlock Stamps; her brothers Gilbert Russell Spurlock and Michael Ray Spurlock as well as her precious nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dorrice lived her life devoted to her children and family. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and being a part of the Children’s Ministry in her church as well as working in the Metro Nashville School system. Her silliness will be deeply missed, her stubbornness not soon forgotten, and we know that dessert at Thanksgiving will never be the same.
Visitations with the family will be held from 4 PM to 8 PM Monday, August 15, 2022, and 10 AM to 11 AM Tuesday, August 16, 2022. Funeral Services will begin at 11 AM at Madison Funeral Home, 219 E. Old Hickory Blvd., Madison, TN 37115 with Pastor Charles Cowan and Pastor Jason Cowan officiating. Interment at Hagewood and Hand Cemetery in Charlotte, TN.
