Edward "Eddie" Eugene Williams

Edward (Eddie) Eugene Williams, age 77 of Springfield, TN, passed away October 20, 2024. He was born on October 9, 1947 in Madison, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, David C. Williams and Lorene I. Williams. 

Eddie grew up in Madison with his parents and one little sister, Linda, where they lived in the house his brick mason's father built. He graduated from Harbert Hills Academy in Savannah, TN. He worked in nutrition at the Tennessee Christian Medical Center for over 10 years. Eddie was a hard worker and was often chastised for arriving too early to start his shift. He was a self-professed “movie buff” with some of his favorites being the Lifetime variety. He loved music of all types and immensely enjoyed nights out singing karaoke with close friend Gloria Haley. He was an animal lover, and delighted in feeding the squirrels and birds. He also loved classic cars and was excited when his daughter got a Camaro. Eddie liked to keep up with sports highlights and scores, even though he claimed he was “not a sports lover”, and could always gloomily tell you the Titans latest losing score. He was kind-hearted and friendly, and he will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Eddie is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Mixon (Michael) of Madison, TN; sister Linda Hipsher (Leonard) of Gallatin, TN; nephews Bryan Harris (Kim) and Marcus Harris; great-nieces and nephews; and cousins.

Visitation with the family will be held from 4 PM - 8 PM, Tuesday, October 29, 2024, and Wednesday morning, October 30, 2024, from 10 AM - 11:30 AM, with Funeral Service to follow at 11:30 AM, at Madison Funeral Home, 219 E. Old Hickory Blvd., Madison, TN 37115. Interment will follow at 1 PM at Spring Hill Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Pike S., Nashville, TN 37216.
