James Edward Johnson, of Nashville, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024, peacefully at his home. He was 74 years old, born on October 1, 1949, in San Francisco, California to the late Edward Paul and Lacy Esther Johnson, where his father was stationed in the Army.
James was the eldest of eight children. He grew up loving the outdoors and fishing. He was a heavy-equipment operator before becoming a diesel mechanic at Kenworth. After retiring at Kenworth, James enjoyed helping at the family business, Johnson’s Honey Farm. He was a gentle man; he talked to God daily and was thankful for all of God’s blessings. He loved the company of friends and family while dining out, and always made sure to make them laugh with his dry humor. James lived a simple life and that is the way he wanted it.
James was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Paula Sue Morton. James is survived by his three children, Jon Eric (Stephanie Marie) Johnson, Jacob Edward Johnson, and Crystal Lynn (James Edward) Baird; grandchildren, Lilyian Rose, Layla Elise, and Liam Matthew Johnson, & James Andrew (Alexandra), Abigail, and Adam Edward Baird; one great-grandchild, Alexander James Baird; siblings, Terry Clayborn, Michael, David, Betty Broussard, Robert, and Thomas (Teresa) Johnson; three nephews, six nieces, and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.
