Jean Underwood Brown

Jean Underwood Brown of Madison, TN, age 86 passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 after an extended illness. She is preceded in death by her father, Perry Underwood, her mother Ora Underwood, and her stepmother, Birdie Underwood. She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Johnny, loving children Sandy, John, and Jan Brown, sister Marie Stancliff, several nieces and nephews, and best friends Ernestine Talbert and Martha Coleman. She was a member of Center Chapel Church of Christ. She taught school for 32 years in Metro Nashville Public Schools. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be current and former elders and deacons of Center Chapel Church of Church. A special thank you to all the members of Center Chapel for all the support. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 3 to 7pm in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home and where funeral service will be conducted on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 11am with Bro. Andy Connelly and Bro Darrell Duncan officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30pm at Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro, TN. MADISON FUNERAL HOME (615)868-9020.
