Joye passed away on September 24, 2024. She was born on February 22, 1931, in Pierce, KY. Joye was
preceded in death by her parents Clifford T. Jones and Lou Etta Rayburn, her husband John W. Hood,
Jr., her son-in-law David Worsham, her granddaughter Amy Gore and her sister and
brother-in-law Faye (Joe) Winfrey.
Joye’s survivors include her children Linda (David) Worsham, Vicki (Tommy) Gore, Sandra (John) Garner,
John (Jean) Hood. Grandchildren Matt Worsham, Jenny Lillquist, Lianne (Blake) Lindsey, Laura Gore,
Amanda (Craig) Haneline, and John (Jo) Garner. Great grandchildren Drew and Amy Lindsey, Annabelle,
Harper, Sawyer and Atticus Haneline. Nephews Jeff Winfrey, Jon Winfrey, and niece Jenny Winfrey.
Joye loved to teach. She was a school teacher and taught many years at Goodlettsville High School and
several other Metro Nashville schools. She also taught at David Lipscomb University and Columbia State
Community College. Joye taught Sunday school, was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, and tutor for the
Madison church GED program. She was a devout Christian, an artist, and scientist. She loved her family,
church, friends, travel, books, attending school and her dogs. She will be so missed.

or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital
Visitation with the family will be held from 10 AM - 12 Noon, Monday, September 30, 2024, with Funeral Service to follow
at Madison Funeral Home, 219 E. Old Hickory Blvd., Madison, TN 37115. Interment will be at The Nashville National Cemetery at 1PM
