BASS, JUANITA BEECH, age 90, Nashville, TN. born November 26, 1926, died January 11, 2011 after an extended battle with cancer. Preceded in death by husbands, Walter Hill, Buddy Harvey, Ed Bass; her wonderful parents, Gertrude McMurtry and step-father, (who was like a real father), Mr. Sid E, McMurtry known as "Daddy Mac", who was a retired policeman from Old Hickory; brothers, John Lee McMurtry, Lucion Franklin, Beech; best friend and sister, Lucille Hague. Survived by devoted son, Mike Hill and his sweet and devoted wife, Edie who provided great care to her through her battle with cancer; sister-in-law, Mary McMurtry; two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, 10 great, great grandchildren, two nieces, one nephew and several great nieces and nephews. Juanita Bass will be remembered as a fine lady. She was an artist and one of her pride and joys was to do sketches in the Madison Station Book, which was published. She was the owner of Sweetbriar Farm, one of the oldest historical homes in Madison. She had faith that God was taking care of everything and she battled cancer with a great attitude. Visitation with the family will be at Madison Funeral Home Thursday 4-8 p.m. and Friday 10 a.m. until service time at 12 Noon with Pastor Mike Giles officiating.
