PAUL RICHARD STEINKIRCHNER PASSED AWAY ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2024. PAUL WAS BORN ON AUGUST 2, 1934 TO LEORA AND PAUL STEINKIRCHNER (BOTH DECEASED) IN JOHNSTOWN PENNSYLVANIA. HE LIVED WITH HIS PARENTS IN DUNDALK MARYLAND UNTIL ENTERING THE MILITARY
PAUL JOINED THE ARMY AT THE AGE OF 17 YEARS AND SPENT 21 YEARS THERE RETIRING AS A MASTER SARGENT IN THE COMMUNICATIONS FIELD. WHILE SERVING HIS COUNTRY HE WAS STATIONED IN KOREA AND VIETNAM AND RECEIVED THE BRONZE STAR AS WELL AS THE VIETNAM CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE ARMY OCCUPATIONAL MEDAL WHILE SERVING IN GERMANY. HE WAS STATIONED ALSO IN FRANCE, BELGIUM, AND ENGLAND AND RETIRING IN AUGUSTA GEORGIA. PAUL MOVED TO NASHVILLE TENNESSEE IN 1976 AND CONTINUED RESIDENCE THERE WHERE HE WAS EMPLOYED FOR SEVERAL YEARS AT STEINER LIFF IN NASHVILLE UNTIL HE RETIRED AT THE AGE OF 62.
PAUL IS SURVIVED BY HIS TWO BROTHERS, JOSEPH STEINKIRCHNER, WESTMINSTER, SOUTH CAROLINA, AND WILLIAM STEINKIRCHNER, DENVER, COLORADO. A THIRD BROTHER, KENNETH STEINKIRCHNER, PRECEDED PAUL IN DEATH WHILE SERVING IN VIETNAM.
PAUL IS ALSO SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, MARY STEINKIRCHNER, MADISON, TENNESSEE, HIS THREE DAUGHTERS, SHARON EDWARDS SLOAN, (BARRY SLOAN) COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA, KATHERINE INGLETT, AUGUSTA GEORGIA, AND AMY WEBSTER, GOODLETTSVILLE, TENNESSEE. PAUL’S FOURTH DAUGHTER, RHONDA STEINKIRCHNER, PRECEDED HIM IN DEATH DURING CHILDHOOD.. ALSO SURVIVING ARE THREE GRANDCHILDREN, AND TWO GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN.
THE FAMILY ALSO WISHES TO THANK ALIVE HOSPICE FOR ALL OF THEIR HELP AND ASSISTANCE THROUGH THE DIFFICULT TIMES PROCEEDING MR. STEINKIRCHNER'S DEATH, SPECIFICALLY, TERRI SMITH, HIS ALIVE VOLUNTEER AND DESTINY, HIS NURSE.
THE FAMILY ASKS THAT YOU SUPPORT PAUL’S FAVORITE CHARITY, ST. JUDE’S CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL IN MEMPHIS WITH A SMALL DONATION TO HELP CURE CHILDREN’S CANCER.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE WILL BE HELD AT MADISON FUNERAL HOME, 219 EAST OLD HICKORY BLVD MADISON, TN 37115 ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2024 FROM 11 AM - 1 PM.
