Robert Leeland Thurston Sr, Age 51, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, after a short illness at Tristar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville TN. He was preceded in death by his parents; Louis James Thurston Sr and Diana Marie Thurston, his wife; Alana Recht Thurston, his infant son; Timothy Michael Thurston; and his brother Andrew Thurston. Robert is survived by his daughter; Ashley Nichole Thurston, and son; Robert Leeland Thurston Jr, and two brothers; Louis J. Thurston Jr, and Jeff Thurston (April).
Above all things, Mr. Thurston loved his family, friends, and his co-workers at Smyrna Ready Mix. His family would like to thank his many friends and co-workers for all their generosity and support during these difficult times. He loved fishing and four-wheeling (and the hospital visits after the four-wheeling), and playing video games like online Dungeons and Dragons. He also enjoyed collecting Legos and Eagles. Robert was a fun-loving man who enjoyed his Miller Lite (Miller Lite could have been his sponsor), and some say he died doing what he loved best, Drinking his Miller Lite and playing video games.
Visitation with the family will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM, Thursday, March 28, 2024, followed by A Celebration of Life Service at 1 PM, at Madison Funeral Home, 219 E. Old Hickory Blvd., Madison, TN 37115.
