Rose Huddleston Harris Bartlett

Rose Huddleston Harris Bartlett, age 94, died January 24, 2023 at her residence.  She was born in Chattanooga, TN the daughter of Ralph Hurst Huddleston and Louis Elisabeth Smith Huddleston.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years and father of her three children, William E. Harris, Jr. and husband of 24 years, Stanley T. Bartlett; sister, Lyda H. Walker; daughter, Terri Lee Bartlett; Grandsons, Stephen Rasor and Chase Lee Harris. She is survived by children:  Richard  L. “Rick” Harris (Dianne), Helen Claire Harris Hall (Harry), Robert Kirk Harris (Shayne), Kenneth R. Bartlett (Debbie), and Cheryl Bartlett Rasor; 9 Grandchildren: Kirsten Hall King, Claire Elise Hall Books (Logan), Blake Harris (Jennaca), Carson Harris, Clayton Campbell (Cait), Kecia Bartlett, Russ Hicks, Erik Bartlett (Amy), Chris Rasor (Whitney); 10 Great Grandchildren:  Amory Murphy, Corbin Harris, Ellie Campbell, Dylan Campbell, Tyler Montemarano (Jillian), Ryan Montemarano, Carter Hicks, Brock Bartlett, Laney Bartlett, Leighton Rasor; Great Great Grandchild, Whitney Montemarano .

Rose was a 1946 graduate of Isaac Litton High School where she sang with the Glee Club.  She was a woman of many talents who enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing bridge and golf, boat rides and even water skiing every year on her birthday up into her 70’s.  She possessed many friends and participated in “Meals on Wheels” for many years. She was a long time member of Franklin United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.  Rose was an excellent decorator who was very creative and loved hosting friends and family on special occasions in her home.  She was known as a very independent woman who seemed to be able to accomplish anything she set her mind to do. She lived not only a long life but a very productive life and was always actively involved in the lives of her family, friends and church.

At her request a graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 660 Thompson Ln., Nashville, TN 37204, on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 12:00 PM.
