Shirley Edna Grimes

Shirley Edna Grimes passed away on January 25, 2023 at the age of 88. She is  preceded in death by her husband of 52 years William L. Grimes and beloved daughter Winnie Lou Grimes. She is survived by her sister, Janice Stephenson of Fredericksburg, Texas. She is also survived by daughters Linda Loparnos and Teresa (Armand) Allaire; grandchildren Tamantha Chapman (Kellis), Crystal Starr, Kiki Loparnos and Vasili Loparnos; great grandchildren Chastan (Jazmine) Chapman, Colby Chapman and Hannah Chapman.

Shirley is further survived by niece Connie Wehmeyer (Steve) and nephew Danny Stephenson. Shirley spent 20 years of her life travelling the world and raising her children as an Air Force Family before moving to Tennessee. Shirley held many jobs throughout the years but the most important roles she held was that of wife, mother and sister. At some point during her life, she took care of everyone. Many more than her children and grandchildren called her granny. 

Shirley aka “Granny” was truly beautiful inside and out and will be dearly missed each and every day by those whose lives she touched.

Visitation with the family will be held Monday, January 30, 2023 from 11 AM till 2 PM

with Funeral Service at 2PM at Madison Funeral Home, 219 E. Old Hickory Blvd.,

Madison, TN 37115. (615)868-9020. Interment will be held  at 11 AM, Monday,

February 6, 2023 at Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville, TN
