BRIAN MEEHAN OBITUARY
Brian Christopher Meehan was born on March 6, 1974, and died on March 29, 2022. He was the joy and the light of his loving parents, Marilyn Meehan Beaty and Tom Meehan. Brian is preceded in death by his grandmother Jean Montaperto, his grandfather Thomas Meehan, his grandmother Bertha Ritz and his grandfather Franz Ritz. He is survived by his parents, his sister Kristen Comeau (Max), nephew Luka Comeau, his brother Nick Beaty, his wife Leslie, and his three beloved sons, Sean (13), Ethan (7), and Ewen (3).
A graduate of Father Ryan High School and the University of Georgia, Brian received a graduate degree in Dyslexic Studies from Middle Tennessee State University. For the past 15 years, Brian served as the Reading Specialist at Overbrook School as well as a private tutor, teaching countless children to read and giving them this most precious lifelong gift.
Brian chose the path of education because he wanted to give back to children with different learning abilities. He was a beloved colleague at Overbrook and preferred to stay out of the limelight, never seeking attention for himself.
All who knew Brian loved his easygoing and most gentle nature. He had a profound love of the outdoors and mountain biking in particular. Brian was always up for the next adventure and enjoyed exploring the world and the United States with his wife and children.
Brian will be remembered for how loving and devoted he was to his family. He was an incredible father and his boys were everything to him. He volunteered regularly with Sean’s Scout Troop and was a Boy Scout Merit Badge Counselor.
He was a gentle soul. Brian gave so much of himself, was the most incredible listener, and tried so hard to please everyone. Brian was the best son, spouse, and father his family could wish for. His family and friends are devastated by this loss and he is irreplaceable.
