William M. Greathouse, 1919-2011, reached his life's goal and received ultimate healing in the arms of Christ. He was a friend to all and made all persons sense their importance to him as individuals. He loved life, his family, and God. He was a pastor, educator, writer, and theologian who had a positive impact on the thinking of those who heard him or read his writings. He served where God placed him—as pastor, president of Trevecca Nazarene College and later Nazarene Theological Seminary, and general superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth. He is survived by children Becky (Ted) Martin, Mark (Jan) Greathouse, Beth (Michael) Sykes; 7 grandchildren; 11great-grandchildren; his wife, Judy, and her children; brother Charles Greathouse; and sister Mary Cathryn Richerson. Visitation will be at First Church of the Nazarene 510 Woodland St. in the Woodland St. Foyer on Wed., 2-4 and 5-8 PM, and on Thurs., 11-12:30, with the funeral service at 1 PM on Thurs. with Dr. Jesse Middendorf, officiating.
