Sandra Jenkins

Jenkins, Sandra Lorene Sanders (GaGa, Granny)Age 69, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 15, 2008 at her home in Old Hickory, TN with her husband and children by her side. "…to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8 Her death followed a three year battle with colorectal cancer.Sandra was a 1957 graduate of Goodlettsville High School, was a member of Madison Christian Church and an active member of the Living Waters Christian Ministry, a worship and praise band that performed at many events throughout Middle Tennessee. She retired from Country Music Television (CMT) in 2005 after spending over 20 years with the company. Sandra was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Sanders, brother Kenneth Arden Sanders, and is survived by her father Arden (Tealy) Sanders, her husband of 48 years John, three children Craig (Joni) Jenkins, Andrea (Rusty) Wilcoxen, and Christie (Cary) Blakely, her brother Robert (Ann) Sanders, five grandchildren, Tiffany and Micah McGinnis, Lauren and Anna Blakely, and Thomas Price,and one great granddaughter, Avery Price. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00pm and Wednesday from 3:00pm until time of service at 6:30pm in the chapel of Madison Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Tim Baine and Dave Ratzlaff. Interment will take place at Forrest Lawn Cemetery on Thursday at 1:00pm for family and friends that wish to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that enduring memorials be made in her memory to the Sarah Cannon Research Institute or the Leave a Legacy Program at Madison Christian Church.
